Fourth of July Fireworks and Events in Poughkeepsie

City of Poughkeepsie Fireworks at Waryas Park

The City of Poughkeepsie’s annual fireworks display launches from the Hudson River at approximately 9:00–9:30 PM on July 4. Waryas Park at the base of Main Street is the free public viewing area. Waterfront access is available with direct sightlines to the show. Parking is at a premium on the Fourth. The city recommends public transportation to and from the event.

Walkway Over the Hudson Fireworks Spectacular

For elevated viewing, the Walkway Over the Hudson, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge, 212 feet above the river, opens exclusively to ticket holders at 6:00 PM on July 4 for the fireworks spectacular. The show launches between 9:00 and 9:30 PM at eye level to the bridge, creating one of the most dramatic July 4th viewing experiences in the Hudson Valley. Space is strictly limited, and tickets sell out every year. Children 12 and under are free but must reserve a ticket in advance.

Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum Independence Day Celebration

MHDM hosts convenient on-site parking on July 4 beginning at 7:00 PM with a covered picnic space and waterfront view of the fireworks. This is a family-friendly ticketed option with parking and a more intimate setting than Waryas Park.

Fourth Of July Fireworks In Beacon, NY

Beacon’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration takes place on Friday, July 3rd, at Pop Warner Field in Memorial Park on Robert Cahill Drive, with fireworks launching at dusk as part of the city’s REV250 commemorations. Arrive early to take advantage of kids’ activities and food vendors before the show gets underway. Parking is limited at the site, so walking or biking to the park is strongly encouraged.
